CALL TO ORDER

        Chairman Pedersen called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.

NOMINATIONS FOR OFFICERS FOR THE UPCOMING YEAR

        Mr. Mastro reported that the nomination’s process is complete and the vote tallied.  Officers for the upcoming year will be as follows:

Alan Pedersen – Chairman
Marty Turnbull – Vice-Chair
Jack Little – Secretary
Michael Stamm - Treasurer

APPOINTMENTS TO THE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD

        It was Moved by Mr. Mastro, seconded by Ms. McPheeters and unanimously adopted by voice vote of members present to approve the appointments of Connie Sowards, Employment and Training Director, and John Rossi, Department of Labor Manager to the Workforce Development Board.

RESOLUTION EXTENDING 1-STOP OPERATOR CONSORTIUM

        It was Moved by Mr. Pedersen, seconded by Mr. O’Neil and unanimously adopted by voice vote of members present to approve the resolution extending the 1-Stop Operator Consortium for a period not to exceed six months.

1-STOP CERTIFICATION PROCESS

        The Executive Committee will work on creating a template for the certification process at which time the Certification Team comprised of Human Resource personnel who sit on the Workforce Development Board will be asked to provide the certification review.  Once their work is complete, the Workforce Development Board will give final approval.

YOUTH EMPLOYMENT COUNCIL

        RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT FOR WIA YOUTH PROGRAM

        It was Moved by Ms. McPheeters and unanimously seconded to approve the contract with the Office of Employment and Training for the WIA Youth Program for an amount not to exceed $128,253.  The program will serve 35 in-school, and 15 out-of-school youth.  It was noted that there is currently $205,000 available in youth funding.  Once this contract is completed there will be $57,000 available for next year.

OTHER BUSINESS

        There was no additional business brought forward.

ADJOURNMENT

        The meeting adjourned at 10:15 a.m.  The next meeting is scheduled for September 25, 2001, at 8:30 a.m with the location to be announced.
