Beginning May 6, 2006, the Green Street Parking garage is CLOSED.
Visitors
are asked to park in either the Seneca or Cayuga Street parking
garages. The garages both have one hour of free parking with a
$1.00 per hour charge thereafter, with a maximum daily charge of $7.00.
Parking meter rates in downtown will be $1.00 per hour, with a 2 hour
maximum.

From the West
I-90
I-90E to Exit 41. Bear right after Toll Booth. Left at traffic light
onto Rt. 318-S. Left. Stop sign and an immediate right onto Rt. 89-S
towards Ithaca. Take 89-S all the way into Ithaca. Once over the Inlet
bridge in Ithaca, take a left at 3rd traffic light in the far right
lane. Make a right hand turn onto Rt. 13-S (one-way) over railroad
tracks staying to the far left following Rt. 79-E (Green St. - one
way). At 4th traffic light turn right onto Cayuga Street.
The Cayuga Street garage is located on the left immediatly after the
Tompkins County Public Library.
From the East
I-90W
to 81-S to Exit 12 (Cortland/Homer - Rt. 281). Follow Rt. 281 through
Cortland. Route 281 turns into Rt. 13-S. Follow Rt. 13-S into Ithaca.
Route 13 turns into 3 lanes, one-way, in highly settled area. Stay to
far left following signs to Rt.79 (Green St.) At 4th traffic
light turn right onto Cayuga Street. The Cayuga Street garage is
located on the left immediately after the Tompkins County Public
Libary.
- I-88
I-88W to Exit 8 (Rt. 206). Follow Rt. 206-W into Whitney Point. Pick up
Rt. 79-W in Whitney Point all the way into Ithaca. As approaching
downtown, Rt. 79 will branch off to the right (Seneca St. - one way).
Take Seneca St. (Rt. 79) to 2nd traffic light (for Seneca Street
Garage) and turn right, garage is on the right across from the Hilton
Hotel. To get to the Cayuga Street ramp, stay to the
far left on Seneca Street to 3rd traffic light and turn left on Cayuga
Street. Continue through two traffic lights (Tompkins County
Public Library is on the left), Cayuga Street parking garage is on the
left immediately after the Tompkins County Public Library.
From the North
I-81
I-81 S to Exit 12 (Cortland/Homer - Rt. 281). Follow Rt. 281 through
Cortland. 281 turns into Rt. 13-S. Follow Rt. 13-S into Ithaca. Route
13 turns into 3 lane, one-way, in highly settled area. Stay to far left
following signs to Rt. 79-E Green St. At 4th traffic light
turn right onto Cayuga Street. The Cayuga Street garage is
located on the left immediately after the Tompkins County Public
Library.
- From the South
I-81
I-81 N to Rt. 79-W Exit. Take Rt. 79-W all the way into Ithaca. As
approaching , Rt. 79 will branch off to the right (Seneca St. -
one-way). Take Seneca St. (Rt. 79) to 3rd traffic light staying to the
far left. Turn left at 3rd traffic light onto Cayuga St. (also one-way)
staying to right. Continue through 2nd traffic light turn (Tompkins
County Public Library is on the left). The Cayuga Street ramp is
located immediately after the library on the left.
From the Southwest
- Rt 96/34 from Spencer & Rt 13 from Elmira merges in Ithaca. Continue
northeast into Ithaca. On the left hand side you will pass the Kmart Plaza, Tops
Plaza, and Wegmans Plaza. Just past the Wegmans Plaza you will cross a small
bridge (Rt13/96/34 turns into three lanes/one way traffic).
Get into the right hand lane and follow signs to Rt 79-E/Green Street.
(Right hand turn just past the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant) At 4th traffic light you will see the Tompkins County Public
Library on the corner, turn right onto Cayuga Street. Cayuga Street ramp is immediately after the Library on the left.
