Tips for Keeping your Job

Step One: Be On Time
Employer's main complaint about youth employees is their tendency to be late.

Step Two: Ask Questions
Asking questions can often prevent mistakes. It also shows that you are interested in your job, so take the initiative!

Step Three: Work at Work
Make sure that you do your personal things away from work. Eating, calling your friends, personal hygiene (like clipping your nails),or using the computer for your own needs are things you should NOT do at work. While you are at work, employers do not need to give you time to do your homework.

Step Four: Appearance
Make sure to dress neatly, and be clean at all times. Bad personal hygiene is a sure way to lose the respect of your employer and co-workers.

Step Five: Schoolwork
Remember, your first priority is to be a good student. If going to work means that your schoolwork will suffer, either shorten your time, talk to your employer, or give your boss a 2 week notice before quitting.
